Santa, disguised as Mr.Postman, dropped off this package, straight from the Land of the Rising Sun!
These babies will keep me busy for months and months to come :-)
...especially considering that my Philips-The-Elephant did not survive 4th of July festivities and its right channel died...

Congrats, those are some sweet boxes! But wow, that was the only insulation in there? You were very lucky there was no damage.

Incredible. At one point, I estimated a 80% damage rate from radios I received shipped from Japan, and why I stopped importing them. 3 heavy boxes in 1 carton without damage? Someone needs to call Guinness.

I've seen some strange packing material before, but two use boomboxes to cushion a 5700, that's a new one ;-)

Yes, it is a Miracle they survived, that is why I was thinking of Santa's touch here!!! No spacers at all between the boxes, although I specifically asked... And communicating with Buyee folks is like living thru "Lost in Translation" movie set on infinite repeat, totally surreal!!!

Maybe it was too big and heavy for the conveyor belt, so it didn't get dropped.

Those are some beautiful boxes! Great haul!

Jorge, do these run on 100V? I've never used a voltage step up before. Sometimes these Boxes have switches to go from 100V to 120V.

I also have to say thanks for turning me on to Buyee.com. It's interesting, but I'm not sure I'll ever buy anything through this site. Too uncertain with the translations being almost unintelligible in English. It would be nice to speak Japanese :)

I have only four boxes direct from Japan and they are 100V, no voltage set option. Add pretty exorbitant Buyee shipping charges (their fees are reasonable but they add a "tiny bit" to shipping) and you wish you'd had waited /hunted eBay for a bit longer ;-)

This haul was actually my test on whether one can save on shipping by "consolidating" three pieces into one box. Ha!!! Seven weeks of angry emails (when they first consolidated, the total for shipping was DOUBLE compared to the shipping price of three individual boxes!!) Then they refused to "de-consolidate", and only when I promised to cancel all their charges on my CC, they shipped like this, at the same price as if shipped individually. :bang:

So I am with Superduper now, no more Buyee for me, at least not until I need an extra stress in my life :-D

Well done for buying those 3 Jorge . :-)
The Zilbap and the 5700 look so classy with the wooden details on the side.
Never got a chance to listen to a 5700 . It seems so well built.

They made it because that box was probably too heavy to throw around lol.
You could not go "Ace Ventura" on this box, thats for sure! But even the smallest drop would have cracked something, I got really lucky here!!
