I love those   , they look very similar to some Wharfedales of the late '70s. If they're similar in design to those then not only can they handle 130 Watt sources for short bursts without panicking, but their 92db/W/1m efficiency allows them to fill a house with sound even if you only feed them with a Watt or three. Ordinarily, I'd always run speakers uncovered but the frets on these are so sweet & innocent that I'd be tempted to leave them on to add to the sense of shock when you play some Steel Pulse or Horace Andy through them at full blast. :-D

Wood lattice Sansui's are badass. I got a pair myself.

You're right, they do rock.

As the resident Sansui homer I can tell you that you have a nice set. The grilles are in the traditional "Kumiko Fretwork" style found on most Sansui speakers until the 80's. I have a set of SP-5500X that are driven by my 5000x receiver. You will be very happy. :-D

I am a big fan of those Sansui and pioneer HPM-100 speakers.
I have 34 pairs of heavy large size speakers alone... now I need to back off! Or esle I would have bought those too!

When those 16" pound.... the effect is so good. You feel the kick on your chest! :-D :hooray:

Also a fan of most vintage Sansui speakers. They always look great with or without the lattice grill. And they will always sound great when paired with a receiver/amp of the same era, be it Pioneer, Sansui, etc.

Congratulations on your purchase - they look very clean!
