RS-466 pinch roller problem

I just bought a National Panasonic RS-466FDS, the top of the aerial is snapped off. But it still gets a better FM signal than some of my other boxes. It's weighty, in a good way.

The only issue with mine is that the cassette deck doesn't work. Even though I will never use it if it did. The fat rubber roller (I'm not a technician) doesn't seem to have any tension. It comes down and doesn't move the tape, and you can flick it back up with your finger.

I'll tear it open over the weekend and see what I find.

Pinch roller assembly has to come down when you press the play button. The return spring is working. The other end of the pinch roller needs to be locked with the whole play back assembly going down and locking in place for play function. The pinch roller face should be in the same plane of the head when it is all the way down. The other end of the pinch roller is not in place with the head assembly going down.

There is a spacer or spring missing from the left side. I wish I can open my 466 and take a pic. I am kind of busy these days with lots of travel.

Hello Sir, sorry for asking a different subject, but I have the same boombox with the antenna broken and I am wondering if you could you help me with wich antenna to use for replacement. Thanks

Yeah, they can be a real pain to find.
I had to replace two on my 7700.
The ones I found are thinner and have smaller tips than the originals.
I put small rubber grommets under the tips so they don't slide down into the tubes.
Sometimes you have to compromise on certain parts.
They're not perfect but they work.
