For anyone who has ever lived in California, they know Huell Howser and his TV show California's Gold. He was on the air for 25 years, a real class act. I had the privileged to meet him in Monterrey, Ca about 4 years ago and we spoke for about 30 minutes while we took in the maritime museum. We spoke about lighthouses and he told me about an episode of Cal Gold he did. He then took my name and address down an mailed me a free copy of the DVD with a nice letter inside.

He was a nice man and one of the few respectable people on TV.

He will be missed

Here is a picture of Huell and I....

What the heck!?!?!? I loved watching all his shows as he highlighted all the great things to see and do in California. So sad. J especially liked his episode on In&Out Burgers. :'-(

Aw man. I remember reading about his retirement just a couple of months ago. I vaguely remember him from his Nashville days at Channel 4.
