Hi,I'm currently restoring a Sharp GF-9494H.
It needs a full disassemble and a bath.
I've cleaned most of the rest of it,needed a new silicone tube repair
for the tape deck which I did and just need to trim it up and do some
adjusting yet.
FF & Rew. Worked fine but play wasn't working as the tube disintegrated.
The radio is all good!
There is a small hole on the bottom of this,I may just cut a piece of hard
plastic to fit the small triangle hole and JB Weld it into place.
Luckily it's on the bottom and it's small.
Need a tuning knob and at least 1 antenna for this.
I'm going to do a "Jimmy"'style resto on this!
I have some photos so far and will post my progress.
This is my first 9494 and they are big!

It could be that the inside diameter is too big or maybe you just cut the piece too short. Both of those situations could cause the tubing to travel too far out of reach on the flywheel shaft. My $.02.
