Anyone know any good boombox repair shops in Los Angeles? Need some cabinet work done on a couple boxes, and would appreciate any tips.

Thanks,

djb

For electronic work, try yellow pages for VCR repair, those guys might have experience with old-skool stuff. Or try looking under "handymen". Never hurts to call them and ask if they know someone else. It's not like all the guys who did it years ago are dead. They just don't advertise anymore.

Those are good idea's.

I have been really searching the last few months, but no luck...Google searching and calling shops. But everyone I have found repair LCD TV's, large appliances or professional audio equipment.

I will look for VCR repair

Yeah the problem with Google is that a lot of these guys don't have websites. Try the yellow pages or craigslist, for handymen or repairmen or something like that.

Or, call an old-skool hifi guy, who advertises vintage hifi, and ask if he works on tape decks (he probably did years ago). If he doesn't, ask him if he knows anyone that does.

RELI, YOU ARE THE MAN!

I searched "VCR REPAIR" and found "A Plus TV and VCR Service" in Woodland Hills, Ca. I spoke to the guy, an older gentleman and he indeed works on cassette decks and vintage electronics, also gives free estimates!

Awesome dude! Let me know how it goes!

For sure...if this works out, I will be sending this guy a steady stream of radio's to repair....I know it will cost, but there are some things I just can't do :-/

So strange....I have been searching for a repair shop for some time....all I needed to do was search VCR repair...crazy
