Should work well. Recording quality depends on the boombox. Make sure no other sounds occur on your computer (instant messangers, system sounds, ...) - which means shut all other programs and don't do anything on your computer while recording
I use a portable music player to record cassettes so there's no chance anything else gets on the tape. Much more convenient.
