Rudey has one of these, I believe it's bass shy but solid mids and highs. Like most Hitachi then really. 3ds aside of course.

I have one, the brown/bronze version...Tre has it right. It's the only Hitachi worth listening to (other than 3Ds)

I'm not sure that video does that box justice but it's hard filming boxes sometimes and getting decent sound reproduction.
I've got two of the standard Hitachi ones and a silver Perdisco. They sound ok, pretty loud but not bass monsters. However I've never listened to one and thought 'this is really bass shy'. It's kind of middle of the pack soundwise but oh so pretty. You can certainly live with the sound. It's ok.

Dosen't even sound good going through my tv which normally makes most things sound good...only half decen't boxes hitatchi made are the 3d superwoofers like others have stated

thanks for the kind offer --cant really fall in LOVE with it - even it it really has a good bass
so no need for the video
however --if you have local strippers ...that video would be swell -- lol

I also have the brown/bronze version and found the bass not to be what I was expecting although it's fine for every day use in the background. There's no chance of something funky happening with the air pressure with this!

I like that model, especially the 8610 but the audio in that video does sound kinda crappy and distorted. Maybe that example isn't working right, and given that it's a 100v box, I wouldn't be surprised if there are circuitry issues and failures if it had been operated at 125v.

Hitachi did make a line of hard hitting, bassy monsters - the TRK-9150 thumps better than most, I guarantee it! :-)

yess i forgot about that one jimmy, would like one but they never seem to be in working condition :-)

I know what you mean - it took me 3 units to find a good one.
The thing to remember is that these date from 1978 so they're getting on. :-)
