As many of you know I have been modding some of my radio's to use a bluetooth receiver. I have written plenty of threads in the customization section about it.
The Bluetooth Receiver I have been using was the BluBridge Mini-Jack RX. I have had it for about 3 1/2 - 4 years now and the battery inside was finally starting to fade. I thought I would open it up to see if I could replace it and when I did, the screw driver I was using to pry the case open slipped and scrapped some components of the chip inside

So, it was time for a new one anyways...
They still make the Mini-Jack RX and prices hover around $45. I started looking on eBay and found a no name brand for only $16.99 shipped. I figured I would try it.
As you can see in the picture below it is a tiny bit larger. This isn't a problem as the new one still fits in the cassette deck area where I plug them in.
I haven't tested the battery life yet. The Mini-Jack RX original lasted between 8-12 hours. In the last 6 months that faded to 3...and most recently maybe an hour. I will report on the battery life once I have had time to use it.
But there are some features that I really like on this new receiver.
When connecting the old Mini-Jack RX, I would have to turn on the receiver by holding down the power button, then go to my phone, open the Bluetooth control section, find the device and manually connect it. That always sucked! With the new device, once paired, I simply turn it on and in a matter of a few seconds it connects to the phone automatically.
The new device also has "Play / Pause / FFW / RW" buttons on it, so you can control the music playback from the device as well. Not sure I will ever need it, but still a cool feature.
It comes with a 3.5mm jack, 3.5mm cord and newer style mini USB cord.
