I remember having them on my military vehicle as far back as Desert Storm in 1990. I don't recall ever seeing them used on any local law enforcement units. Maybe used in Department of Forestry, or similar. Haven't seen anyone sporting these around here.

Don't fall the marketing tricks. It's a load of hooey. The military only used them to keep soldiers from poking their eyes out.
