Yeah I had a few other boxes including a couple mono boxes but the CEC was the one I went everywhere with2steppa said:My first real boombox as opposed to mono radio cassette recorder.
The Pioneer SK-303![]()
I don't have a pic from the back when (the box is long gone) but I found one elsewhere![]()
Nice machine really considering it was tone only and no tape select or dolby or any other fancy stuff.
DID have music search though.

That's AMAZING! I threw out all my old boxes when i was a kid, but found the same models to replace the ones i chucked many years ago![]()
I covered it in plastic and didn't have even a hairline scratch on it. The sound was awesome. The tweeter 9696 got is much better than the GF777.
Thanks Bill,LOL! I had to look at my picture to figure out what you were talking about.........Matrixambience said:Hey Skippy...love those Nike Cortez/Oceanias!! I had the navy blue with white swoosh! BTW...my first teenage boombox was the Panasonic RX-5085, long gone.....Panasonic Fan (Bill) won it when I sold it on ebay back in 2003. Miss it alot.

I think I just got a tingly feelin' in the nether regions! Sorry so graphic, but that 5085 just brings so many great memories for me! Its 1982 again with my Cortez, '77 Chevy Nova (first car), Alligator shirts,Levi 501's, Pioneer Super Tuner, Fast Times At Ridgemont High, and Last American Virgin, and listening to Hot Hits WCAU FM Philliy on the 5085!
