My first real boombox as opposed to mono radio cassette recorder.

The Pioneer SK-303

I don't have a pic from the back when (the box is long gone) but I found one elsewhere :-P
Nice machine really considering it was tone only and no tape select or dolby or any other fancy stuff.
DID have music search though.

This is the type of boomer I had as a teenager. My first ever was a GE P-755A. (Big, silver ghettoblasters were still 20 years away when I was a teenager.) (The good part about that is that I grew up in a time when the Beatles actually existed!)

Happy Birthday for tomorrow, Bill! Mine's the day after!

My 2nd teenage box was this one that I had in 1985:

grailphilips.jpg

It's a Philips and I loved it dearly. This is the ONLY pic I've ever seen of one and not even Roman has one.
Don't know why it's rare.. was a boss box though!

My first one that I bought a year ot so this one I've never seen a photo of either, but it was a no-name threeopiecer that I once saw a similar AKA of.
One day I hope to have both again, and it's greatly surprised me that of the thousands I've boxes I've seen on here, s2go and the rest of the internet over the years that I've never seen anyone else with them.

Rock On.

Happy Birthday Bill!
:beer2:

Mine was Sharp9696F back in 1982.

Sadly it got stolen and I was devastated at that time. My Sharp GF9696F ghost haunted me for so many years. I covered it in plastic and didn't have even a hairline scratch on it. The sound was awesome. The tweeter 9696 got is much better than the GF777.

See the one I got in my collection

   I think I just got a tingly feelin' in the nether regions! Sorry so graphic, but that 5085 just brings so many great memories for me! Its 1982 again with my Cortez, '77 Chevy Nova (first car), Alligator shirts,Levi 501's, Pioneer Super Tuner, Fast Times At Ridgemont High, and Last American Virgin, and listening to Hot Hits WCAU FM Philliy on the 5085!
