Ok so Ira pointed out and I never even noticed that my discolite has no gold trim. Even the writing and knobs are plated gold!! So I went looking for pics and found mostly all discolite's have the gold trim :hmmm: So I'm asking anyone with a Discolite to please post pics of yours in day light without lights going. I'm trying to see rarity of the non gold trim unit. Plus then we can see how many collectors actually have them :-). I also used Scott's pic as it clearer than mine

Well it might be boring but seems rarer than the gold trim :hmmm: So far all the pics I've seen has gold trim and letters where mine has white letters and the top tweeter speaker area is chrome. That why I started this thread plus to see how many collectors have these units. One other thing I noticed is the back of my unit doesn't have access to light bulbs in speakers :hmmm:

I currently own two discolites (both versions of it labelled as Vela).
The second pic shows my current one and the first discolite I ever got (Hamisonic) which went to another collector by now.
The third pic shows the the last discolite I got from France labelled as Technisound. It has also been passed on already.

Your Technisound speakers have odd color combo dust caps Max :hmmm: .

Should be Yellow, Red, Blue, Green by the looks of the other ones posted.

Indeed, mine was a "Stealth Model" as Ira so eloquently put it.

Having none of that I golded it

I used a foiil/card that I cut to shape. But one day I'll re-do the lot in gold foil mylar.

Still very pleased with the results of the initial job though!

Rock On.

Thanks guys, keep them coming :-). Although it does look my theory is correct so far about the Discos without gold trim being rarer but something else I noticed is the ones without gold trim still seems to have gold letters :hmmm: Can anyone tell me if this is true
