Hi

I'm fairly new to this, but getting quite addicted to looking at these 80's creations. I like the silver one boxers, the larger the better. The excess of knobs and buttons, crazy features, quality components and solid engineering. Anyway the topic I'm getting round to is boxes with multiple speakers. The classic set up is a pair of two ways (4 in total). But the exciting ones add a subwoofer or two, like the GF 777 (6), Sanyo Big Ben (5), Philips D8444 (5). So basically my topic is about classic muti speaker ( more than four!!) Boomboxes, your favourites, unusual arrangements and which wins the prize for most speakers??

Welcome aboard, TTF. :-)

Telefunken Studios have six speakers and sound amazing.

National RX-A5 units have eight speakers (the most I've seen on a unit).

4 of the 10 are passive radiators (ABR) these are not "speakers" as such, they are a fancy "port" and act the same as a port in a bass reflex speaker system. The weight of the passive radiator is equal to the mass of a tuned port

The National RX-XE550 has 4 drivers per side, 2 opposing tweeters, mid and bass driver.

Passive radiators shouldn't really count, because they're not powered. I have a midsize, 1-piece box with 7 real powered speakers.......That's the most I've ever seen.

You can't just throw that in without more inf! what's the model and max watt output?
It's called a Williamson, it's just a traditional shaped box with 4 speakers on the front, 2 on the sides, and a sub on the back. Late 70's, so not a powerhouse by any means.
