podcasts anyone?

How many here either stream or download podcasts for listening? One of my favorites is the "Security Now" podcast about PC security issues such as spyware,viruses and exploits. It's very informative without a lot of time filling gab like some other podcasts. Are any of you into podcasts?

Podcasting is pretty slick. I like to catch The Car Doctor and various talk shows on KGO's shows. I really like listening to Leo Laporte as he always has the latest tech news and security tips as well as photography coverage. If you guys want to have a listen you can archive Sun 10am to 12pm to catch his show.

dave LC2-Wow,someone else does this also . Podcasts vary wildly in quality.If you go to hosting sites,they are arranged in order of popularity.This is good because obviously the bad ones are way down the list in # of downloads.They come in handy for me on my Saturday route at work.The truck stereo isn't that great so I might as well learn something.I'm also into Audible books usually covering historical or political ground.Also some podcasts I download cover political issues.

I agree the Leo Laporte offerings are generally pretty good as these go.In fact "Security Now" is part of his series.It is hardcore knowledge from beginning to end.The problem with his others,and many other podcasts in general,is that they usually are padded with a lot of friendly "gabbing" between the hosts.For example I have gone 20 minutes into a tech podcast before hearing anything substantive.Of course if you have a weekly show and want it to clock in at an hour,this may be necessary for them.Cnets "Buzz Out loud" cuts out a lot of the gab and is about half as long as Leo's generally.Despite this If your looking for real information on what new in tech these shows deliver the goods.
