Well guys you may remember I put uop a post last week titled (I got a beauty coming my way).

So today after waiting a week my personal grail arrived. Yes yes it's the Philips d8614 sound machine. I have been after a minty fully working one since I sold my last not so good one. Anyway luckily it was undamaged as the seller didn't pack all that well tbh which really gets on my t**s.
Cosmetically it's a 9.5 out of 10 as described and all intact original and fully working (icons out again)
but i'm smiling. I noticed it had a lot of dust inside speaker rims ect so took her apart and went to town. could defo tell nobody has ever been in the back on this one. So after 2 hours of intricate cleaning without further ado, here she is in all her glory, oh did I forget to say she sounds awesome (grin) Oh and it was an ebay buy now £69.99 plus p&p but it cost me nowt as it was a gift (huge grin)

I reckon they're one of the most undervalued pieces of kit ever, what with the amazing sound and that classy style.

I just don't get how these amazing boxes are often so cheap for what they are. Massive bargain!

its looking great azz bro,really is,my faith in philips boxes isnt great as you know but after seeing this one and the effort you have put into cleaning it brother,i feel different again....but i think ill watch out for a d8634 mark 2 next,not because i dont like the d8614 but purelyn and simply cos ive had too many of them and never had a d8634 this radio couldnt have happened to a nicer bloke so sit back and enjoy your personal grail
