Are the DP's more of a bass monster than these? I have an RV-X55 that seems to have a more balanced, full range sound out of it's two speakers. Nice bass, nothing special.

Yes, DP's are real bass monsters. They also sound quit good, because it's possible to adjust the highs on these units. Unlike normal kabooms. Dont think any vintage box will beat it in the bass department. The B550 doesn't have separate woofer, so it doesn't produce a lot of bass. Just average IMO. It doesn't compare to the DP, only in shape.
