i just picked one up too!
awesome box. but mine is a little more beaten..

not to steal your thread but does anyone have extra slider!??!?
im missing the right 5 sliders:
3 of the big ones (cassette volume, left and right speaker volume)
and those 2 other little ones ( cassette tape, and dolby nr)

Here is something you probably have not seen before. A painting by soviet painter (Zaretskaya-Grigorieva) titled "Pioneers - Young Astronomers" (1983, Oil)

Can you recognize the boombox on this painting? It may not be the only painting with boombox on it but it sure is the only painting from USSR era with boombox
Pioneers (I was one of them once, it's like unisex scouts) were not supposed to think about boomboxes. Mostly astronomy, space exploration, World Peace etc.

I wished I owned a Pioneer :'-( I think they are hands down the best designed boombox. Form meeting function in harmony!
