Sweet! Do you guys leave "cookies & milk" for Santa the night before?
I went Mexican this year and left a little calentito for him to drink. Worked like a charm!

I have to admit, that is one nice looking M-70. Congratulations!

What are the major differeces between the "JW" and "W" designations? :hmmm:
(I mean, beside the fact that it's missing the "J")

Can't remember which way round it is, but one of these is much thirstier than the other. I think it's the W that consumes 47 Watts, the JW a much more tree-hugging 25 Watts. I noticed this on this very forum in a recent thread about the many and varied close relatives to the M70 but that thread isn't coming up when I click the "New" button above the header so I probably imagined the whole thing. ;-)

Thanks John.
I probably could have done some deep digging myself, but I figured I'd just ask since I'm on vacation and I've been very lazy. |-)
My "Tree-Hugging" JW is still on the same batteries from Labor Day (late August). I'd estimate they've provided around 40 hours of power thus far. I'll have to check them with the Fluke when I get home next week. :hmmm:

After learning the lesson first hand and taking everyone's advice I came to the same conclusion as everyone else. The M70 is one of the best radios ever made hands down and it looks like you got a GREAT ONE!

SUPER SCORE! :hooray:
