Panasonic RX-FS450 - Idler wheel assembly spring?

Can anyone help me figure out where the other end of this spring is supposed to go? The idler wheel was popped off, so I reattached it, but the idler is being pushed down so it's rubbing against the spindle.

I've never had one but:
Does the other pinch roller have the same spring setup so you can reference that to this one?
Did you reinstall it correctly?
By correctly I mean that there can be something that catches on the roller to hold it up in position until PLAY is activated.
Are you sure there isn't something broken on that pinch roller that keeps it retracted?
