Got way lucky with a local for sale ad this week.

A little dirty but everything is in working order. Even the CD changer. Tuner is digital but seems to be working pretty well, as I was able to tune in a hard to get station.

One interesting thing is that there is no selector switch. You want the cassette? Just hit any cassette button and it switches to cassette. Same for the CD and the radio.

Also I was surprised by the extra speaker wires:

Bonus:

No battery cover, but it came with batteries.

Sounds completely f-ing awesome. Even on slightly used batts. Crazy heavy.
It's a little light on style and lacks a line in, but the sound pumping from this box is an aural super dark chocolate candy bar.

Here's it is with the other Platinum Panny:

Nice finds, el cad  I guess some folks don't consider boxes with CDs as being in the "classic" style, but I like 'em.
And, I hardly ever see anything portable with a CD changer.

Tweeters and woofers have separate amps, that's why there is extra wires.
I was thinking that, but I wasn't sure, since boomboxes seemed to promise crazy things on their labels like "100 watts".
