paint scheme ??

love the sound of the panny dt 707 :thumbsup:
hate the look :thumbsdown:

its a 29 inch egg -- like yuk :'-(

anybody- have an idea for a paint job-
to make it look cool -
or at least less boring ??

i could make a rectangular wooden case around it -
but thats another 5-10 pounds :nonono:

honestly i like the way these look just as they are i think they look very cool i dont even mind the color.
i had mine out over the weekend and well i still get blown aways everytime i listen to it after i have neglected it for a while.

as for painting it i think.
you should

wood grain the entire box so it looks like wood. then put some varnish over it so it looks like its carved out of wood.

sound idiotic?? maybe but i think if you could wood grain that box it would look really fantastic like some of the higher end bw stuff or danish speaker madness.

seriously tho ira i dont think it would be that hard.
you would need a base colour
a wood graining tool or of you look online you should be able to find info how to make one.

clear coat.
spare time and the ability to commit to seeing through to the end.

asides from woodgraining that box i dont think it would look good in any kind of bright colours,it just has too organic of a shape.
i would not paint mine but if i decided to paint mine i think i would give it a go wood graining it.

nah for me this box is perfect the way it is.

hard to scratch the finish when it does not have a finish on it :-)

but first --i might try to make a wood case from that 1/8" thin mahogany
doorskin wood --
it might only add 3 or 4 pounds-
