Paint over spray

Hi all.
Picked up a rough Vz-2000 and it seemed to be own by some kind of spray painter...
As you can see there is over spray over the plastic...
Any idea how/what I can do to remove it?
Might have to use wet sandpaper to get it off and bring it back up to shine....

Nail polish remover works sometimes. Acetone tends to be the same thing, and yes, sometimes they do remove lettering... if you are persistent.

DON'T USE ACETONE (nail polish remover) It will dissolve some plastic even. :blush:

That is a good advice from Bill!

It was not UV coatings used back in those days. Paint technology was in the Flintstones's days.
Mild soap is the first thing to use like Bill said....
I cut a tooth pick and used the cut portion instead of nail. Wet it with water and try removing the paint spots. Nail is pretty high on the Mohr's hardness scale. Wet nail is much softer. Don't use dry nail!

If the water/soap thing is not working, I would polish it with car polish (abrasive for paint/plastic).
If polishing too long, it can also take away letters or decals and remove minor scratches.
