That was an amazing job for any box let alone a rare beauty like that, it made me weep watching the video.

I have never seen Norm as proud of himself for restoring any other boombox as he is for this one. I think, mainly, because he had no spare parts or donor boxes of the same model to pull from. 
So, he had to restore every freaking little piece, bit by bit, by hand. I don't know how he does it. I watched the youtube video too. I still don't know how he does it. But he does it!

And let me just say, this box is not staying on the West Coast. Norm brought it over to my house to show it off. In person, it looks and sounds 100 times better than it does in those videos (and it's pretty mint in the videos). Anyway, I CALLED DIBS! 
Then and there. I did! But Norm said, "NO!" 
He said the Sanyo was the perfect size for a golf cart (which I don't have) and that I didn't have a proper appreciation for Cerwin-Vega style speaker rings. What could I say? I gave up. I sure hope this thing ends up with a 1st Place award at a Sunshine Mix one day, though.
