So you guys were right about not being able to stop at one. I just bought this form a local seller on eBay, i should expect it to arrive next week. Anyone else have one of these? If yes what do you think of this model?

The picture is form the listing, since i don't actually have it yet but once i do i will take some good shot of it after i clean it up a bit of course.

It's a good smaller box, great solid sound for its size...worth having as a good useable box day to day :-)

Yep, no such thing as being a 'One Boxer'! :-D

Nice acquisition, that's a very sturdy looking chap with his feet solidly planted. I feel you'll serve each other well!

The 9090 is a great radio with lots of usable features. Like Northerner said, great for day to day use. Perfect walkin' around sized box too. It has some surprising weight for it's size, but add's to the confidence of build quality.

Yup I agree, i have a 9090 and i love it, such a high quality feel to. Mine doesn't have the "telephone dial" speakers though

I have this one:

LOvely box though, really worth having in the collection i think
Both versions are very nice but, for me, the 'telephone dial' speakers are a fantastic feature making it the better looking of the two..

You know, the "telephone dial" speaks as well as the "waffle" speaker grills have really grown on me over the years. They really take me back to the late 70's. So many members have been posting great pic's of some super models that I think I'm going to have to go after   :-D

OK OK, time to break out my 9090 and do some blasting!

Here is mine

I have to agree with you here, there's just something 'uniquely nostalgic' about these boxes. I've never been a fan of mono boxes but I wouldn't hesitate to make exceptions for some 'waffles' and 'telephone dials'. If ever there was a plan..................

That model is on my 70s list (RC 828 also).
Boxes before Hip Hop pass from Block Parties to Mainstream...

Wish have that two one day...

Congrats on your find.

Cheers.

ok so it finally arrived and it is in not best working order but it does sound fairly good for what it is and the build quality is tank like.

i think in the near future i will get in the hands of a technician and see if i can't get it all back to fully functioning order.

gonna take pics outside this weekend to share with you all.
here is a quick iPhone snap for now.

the design of the unit is really nice. a good example of late 70s industrial design.
