florida is not just about ocean beaches and bikini hotties and catching 600 lb marlins-

yesterday -we went out to the middle of the state --
for some 'get away from it all' peace and quiet -

our huge lake is about the size of some small countries !!
about 55 miles in diameter ..

the first shot is of the rim canal -
its about 200 miles long --and surrounds the lake
its home of a few thousand real live alligators

the next shot is one of the hotels on the main lake-

its nice out there

You are absolutely right about that Ira! There is much more to Florida than it's beaches...but it's hard to beat the scenery at said beaches!

Here in my area we have the beaches about an hour away but many fine memorials very close and are free to visit.....
