REALLY? Because last I saw, the effort was abandoned as a failed attempt and they are now considering using robotic submarines to cut off the failed valve and replace it.

Apparently this is not the first time!

Why didn't BP and all others learned from this one which happened 31 yrs. ago!!

They are in the process of drilling two relief wells, but why didn't they have a plan on how to solve it under 5 thousand feet! I guess we are at fault because we did not want them to drill near our coast.

This just makes my cry :'-(

It is unbelievable!!! It is a crime against mother nature and all humans!! BP failed epicly :annoyed: :nonono: !
If i had my car right now, I would not fill it up at BP gas stations anymore. Well, my parents don't and I think I will never use BP gas stations again! :annoyed:
It is a tragedy :'-( :'-( :'-(   :sadno:

Ira, are you located on the side of the Gulf of Mexico? Do you suffer under the oil crisis? Or are you on the Atlantic side?

I just heard today that BP managed something like a big cap on the hole, let's hope the best. Everything is ruined anyway :'-(

the oil has entered the gulf stream - :'-(
so its on schedule to go thru the keys and them up the atlantic side of florida -
where we live

but all the worlds oceans are connected --
so - its death for millions of fish and dolphins and birds --everywhere

we all need to get away from this urgent need for $$billions of oil

Sorry to hear Ira, nobody should have to live with this mess.
As long as there is big $$$'s in Oil that's where the greedy will be trying to soak up as much cash as they can and this dependance on the earths sludge will continue.

Sounds great Ira so why don't the auto manufacturers make their electric and hybrid cars look normal? Pretty much every electric car and some hybrids look like they were designed by some techno college nerd and they cost to much for what they are. I will give credit for some normal hybrids but the cost makes them poor options. The challenge to manufacturers is to make a good alternative fuel car that looks like every other normal car and sell it for the same $$$'s as the oil burners.

I Am Legend
i agree, don --

there are now a few 'small' makers --
who are making gorgeous ALL electric 2 seat classic looking roadsters--
zero to sixty - 4 seconds !!!! :-O :-O

so - my guess - is that it WILL happen
and that this friggen oil spill - may serve to trigger all this new good clean speed :-) :angelic:

:agree: Ira we have created our own massive sucking Vortex when it comes to oil, I doubt there are very many if any at all who can say they haven't contributed. :nonono:

I still want to get an old muscle car someday but it would only be for the rare ride, complete change is hard. :-)

Love it floyd, those GN's sure can kick some arse.

I would be willing to commute in a "GOOD" elecric/alternative fuel car so I could have my muscle on the weekend, my commute is about 80% of my driving.
