just as an aside....
the arab's are killing us with weapons we either left there, sold them or they bought from the russians. They don't make their own for the most part.

Since our membership is all over the world I think I agree with MZ's second thought but I will agree Oil is the root of a lot of evil.

In his defense, he said the arabs, not all arabs. Semantics, but incredibly important. "The" possibly meaning oil tycoons that align themselves with terrorist factions. His statement was partially incorrect (regarding the manufacture of weapons) but not at all broad. His use of the word "the" narrowed it to exactly the individuals participating. A little punctuation would have helped his post considerably.

That is asking a lot from somebody like Ira. :lol: :w00t: :-P When I visited his home, I saw that his keyboard was missing all of the punctuation keys except for the dash "-". :lol:

hey fellas --all the BS and semantics aside.....
its important to voice about our strongest disgusts for these sickening oil related problems--
as one way or another --it is killing us all -and all thats lives on our planet --

also urgent is that we all TRY to DO something about it !!!!

i am no great example --but i have re-acted in a very small way to help with the SOLUTIONS -
which include ;;
using less oil
and employing cleaner energy

i drive an electric cart everywhere with my range and the legal limits
we use solar powered lights --

my brother - lives up in dark//cloudy boston --
but he has powered 100% of his hot water via his rooftop solar panels
for the past THIRTY YEARS !!!!!

the next car that i buy or build will be electric with solar assist-

i sold my cherished custom 500 HP 1988 chevy S-10 pick-up
after i wedged a BIG BLOCK in it --
at 6 MPG ( the way i drove it) :w00t:
it had huge acceleration ( porche turbo whomper) and fun -- but not fair to anybody :thumbsdown: :sadno:

for old times --lemme post some pictures :-)

anyway -- the bottom line is the WE ALL SUK --
and in some ways we deserve parts of these perils :dunce: :dunce: :hmmm:

if we dont all team up --to eliminate this terrible oil addiction.
hope we all agree to at least that :-)

What really sucks about the oil spill is that you and I - the average joe - can't scoop that **** up and use it for what oil is used for... :-/

I wish I was crafty with science and had the resources to refine that oil 'cause I'd find some kind of way to live off that. :yes:

Yea, but the animals that are more directly and negatively affected by this don't suk... and are completely innocent bystanders. To me, that sux the most.

And I'm not what you would call a naturalist, either.... just a consumer with a conscience.

I love how, when we hear about a new technology that drastically reduces dependency on oil, it is always in conjunction with the words "not economically viable." And as much as I love cars, i think the automotive industry and it's history of suppressing cleaner technology really SUX.

Did any of you see that documentary called WHO KILLED THE ELECTRIC CAR? That's a hell of an eye opener.
