Scotty if each VZ2000 came with an Album then each retailer would have one from the demo unit they use. Plus the albums I just received were like brand new never used so it couldn't be used by retailer. Plus no where on album does it say "for retail use only" which would have been on it. Now I do remember looking at these brand new in 82 but of course I don't remember anything about album but I bet member Madbadger (Kev) who worked for Sharp would know for sure
This is an assumption made by you based on the idea they came with it, you are not clear on this and state yourself that " I don't remember anything about album" If these were included with the VZ-2000 they would say "not for sale" as the demo cassettes I have do, I also have a Sanyo system demo record which has the not for sale on it.

How do you know it was the VZ-2000 it came with ? there was also the 2500 & 1500,3000,3500 home systems plus the upright turntable. The VZ-2000 never was released under Optonica, to the best of my knowledge, so why would they bother with the branding?

Well if you look at how many demonstration tapes that came with Boomboxes are not around as compared to units itself. Sanyo and JVC just to name a couple :hmmm: The music wasn't so great on these so maybe consumers tossed lots of them ;-)
I would say incorrect.
Most people reused the cassettes to record what they wanted and this has been the case with about half of the demo cassettes I have found. People also disposed of entire cassette collections when they changed to CD, many people retained their record/vinyl collections to this day.

Assumption passed off as fact

I believe you too are also making assumptions that is why you stated to "best of your knowledge". Optonica was created as Sharps high end audio just as Technics was Panasonics ;-) These albums also could have been used for other upright BSLT turntables as well produced by both Sharp and Optonica. Unfortunatly we may never know but true it does not state "not for sale" but if they were used for retail chains for demonstration of turntable then it would have been stamped on album. I also stated that Kev (Madbadger) whom did work for Sharp would probably know the story behind the albums. So unless you or I actually purchased a new VZ or Optonica back in 1982, I highly doubt either one can prove the truth ;-) And by VZ I mean any of the BSLT models

Another thing is yes you could re-record over demo tape if you wanted but what does that have to do with albums? and your theory on tapes being disposed of and albums not is untrue. When tapes came out albums were still being produced and same as when CD's came out tapes were still being produced. Disposing of albums, tapes, 8-tracks and CD's were done by individuals who didn't want/need them anymore. In the 80's I went to many garage sales, flea markets etc... Where many albums were being sold. Like I said it was up to each individual person/family whether they wanted to keep, toss or sell.

I kept all my albums because I stored them, all my cassettes were stolen from my car years ago and I still have all my CD's too. But my fiancé Jeannie got rid of all her albums, cassettes and CD's when she felt fit with each update. Now she has none and only uses digital music.

In closing I'm not 100% sure of what these albums were used for but I do know it goes great with my VZ2000 and its like brand new and that's all that matters to me :-D

I made a qualified statement not an assumption

True but some of the same product was issued under both brands, the upright turntable as an example

Replying to your previous statement

Just spotted this one on ebay. Will it sway the argument?

Funny how they show a clear record on the picture on the cover, my VZ won't play a clear 7" because the sensor can't pick it up.
