Now a Magnavox/Philips fan!

Finally got hold of a Magnavox D8623 Stereo Sound Machine. This box rocks! Outstanding bass, crisp detailed sound, and the "spatial stereo" control is great. Very loud for it's size. Very smooth full logic deck. Lightweight - good carry box. These are definitely sleeper boxes. Will become one of my favorites. Any other fans of these?

congrats on a great score, the philips d8614 is my all time fave box, i totally agree with you on the sound it's amazing for the size and weight. it has to be one of the best sounding boxes you can buy, the 8614 was my first find 7 years ago in a second hand shop fully working and mint for £15 still have it now and always will. gotta say i like the name magnavox better than philips though

That is a cool one! What are the dimensions? Weight?

Dimensions are 24 x 10 handle down, 12 handle up x 5.5 inches, weight is right at 12 pounds. My M-70 doesn't sound as good imo, but it may need caps. Nearly sounds as good as my M-90 at mid volumes. The "spatial" rotary version in place of the "wide" setting found on other boxes is superior imo. Really surprised with it, definitely lives up to the claims made in the forum already. Grab one if one comes up again. Price is good on them also. Probably a buy similar to the GE 3-6035. I will be keeping this one.
