The celebration starts.... NOW!!!!!!! Exactly 24 hours after customer support said they would issue my refund despite the seller refusing to pick up the package.... THEY DID!!!! Now I have to wait a few days until the funds show up in my PayPal account. But at least it is OFFICIAL!!!!!

Well, that depends. The guy at the post office said that they hold packages for a PO box as long as the box is paid up. However I checked at USPS.com yesterday and according to the rules my "signature delivery" makes the package "accountable mail" and according to the rules for how it was sent they will leave one notice, wait 5 days, leave another, and return it after 15 days of the first notice. It has been over 3 weeks since the package most likely got to the post office. This location seems to be lax in the regulations, and I have no idea how many notices have been left and when. It is anybody's guess what will happen to the package. The seller has now received emails, phone messages and now notices that the case is closed and has had the funds taken out of his account. He will probably go and get the package now. He waited too long and now cannot make any insurance claim on the original shipment so he is probably going to be hopping mad on the loss of $850.

I am a bit worried for this guy... I know nothing about him... he knows everything about where I live etc. Once I practically received death threats when I returned a am/fm radio that worked for the seller, but not for me, but worked again when he got it back (supposedly), and that was for a $32 item. I even offered to see if I could fix and we could come to an agreement on a minimal (if any) price adjustment. All I did was ask the sellers permission to open the case and check it out and he freaked out. Had to get ebay involved there. Heck once even I got threatened with lawsuits and physical injury when I told a seller that his item he sent via USPS arrived postage due. Because the way it was shipped made it a different class of shipping other than what he paid for when he did his "print at home postage".... and that was for an $8 item, and about $1.50 postage due. There are some unstable individuals out there, let me tell you.

Early on in my collecting I took shipping damage in stride and just ate it myself... even if it was the sellers fault. But no longer....

It has some parts that could be salvaged... and an owners manual that would be worth a bit... Sad to see it damaged in the first place though... :sadno:

I will probably do a copy and paste to a new thread in the appropriate forum with the seller's info. Nobody will find it here... there are only a couple of people paying attention to this topic anyway...

2 months to the day after I returned this to the seller I get a notice in my mailbox that I have a package I need to sign for... not much info on the slip... tracking only shows activity at my post office. So I take a look at my old tracking slip and sure enough.... it was returned to me... for almost 2 months... after repeated emails from me, from ebay, and a personal phone call from ebay... and USPS locking his mailbox.... the seller still never picked up my return... even though it was sitting in his post office for 3 times the 15 day max for signature confirmation. :dunce: So it was returned to me. I had to go down and sign for my own package.... But at least they did not charge me for return shipping. ;-)

Now I got me some free parts.... maybe it will cover some of the time and stress over the whole thing.... :hmmm:

Nice Spud, I wonder if the seller thought if he didn't accept the shipment that somehow he would get the $850 back? :hmmm: Now the seller has lost out all the way around because of his actions.

I warned him plenty of times. You just can't help some people. Now the box is in even worse condition because of the two additional trips. I sent it to him in the same packing he sent it to me in... that's what I was told to do so that he could make an insurance claim. Now he is out that option as well. :dunce:

That is very true, some people just can't see their mistakes or accept responsibility.
