Hi Bill, I love the classic look of the 5010! Both of your units look great but you can certainly tell which of the two has never seen the light of day and has been kept boxed up. How do these sound? I never had one of these. My first so called boombox was a GE mono cassette boomer with a two way speaker and ni-cad rechargeable battery that I got for Christmas in 1982 from my parents. I forget the model number of it but it was a nice boombox. The rechargeable battery didn't last long in it before needing recharged. I was only 17 at the time and was glad to at least have that.

Nice Panny Bill Did it still have that "new electric appliance smell" when you took it out of the original packaging

Yes but some of those tone only boxes sound pretty good, especially the Panasonics, and Sanyos.

That is a sweet RX-5010. I have one from the 80s but the cassette needs some work.
