that other thread was getting ' messy '....

and there was a worthy discussion about ..... if we are the LAST group of box fans - ?

then ........... today -- Hardman posted this cool shot -

and it looks to me -- like these ' kids ' :-) from Brazil were not yet alive in the late 70s // early 80s -

yet they are right here // right now into boxes
:hmmm:
so perhaps there will be future generations in this game

dont forget --portable music devices that sound GOOD will probably be selling forever

if u'r ever in germany, u'r welcome, but wouldn't be clever to send someting overseas, the customs would be very happy to catch the packet and jail me :D

Im also 21, and Max is like 20 right?

I dont think you need to have lived in the 80s to enjoy some extrovert booming in contrast to all the ipods and headphones.
And there is something magical about boomboxes that anybody with feeling should be able to appreciate!

Most don't want to spend too much and I still want them to get nice boxes, which is not always easy. but I'm trying

I do not think collectors disappear, there will always be people who show interest in things that are not directly related to their generations.
but they sure are will be less, that we live in a part of that time.
As a person approaches a particular hobby, it is very difficult to generalize, influence of parents, through music, or just get something differs in that you have to close.
I think most people can tell if they are cute or sounds good, but I think most young people not want to carry something that weighs about 8 kilos or more, consumes much battery, and can take 90 minutes of music, hopefully not to carry more cassettes.
I consider myself a self-taught, my father likes racehorses and remember going to him ,I have not stepped on a racetrack in decades.
My father never had car but , classic cars are one of my hobbys(though I can not afford one).
the only hobby that I have influenced by my father and my family, are railways, my father, uncle and grandfather worked on them.I spent 15 years in a restored steam locomotives club and making excursions with tourists.
I think there are always two kinds of people, those who cling to certain things of the past, and those who are always looking at the future only.

"Preserving the Past and Present for the Future "is a phrase I like

I'm 23 and I have a decent collection of boxes.

As above, all my mates love them, and they complain if I don't bring one along with me.

I love fixing stuff up, so boxes are just one of the many things I've collected/bought/sold.

I've always loved radios, my parents have a photo of me taking one apart when I was three.

I think some of you old guys don't realise just how ingrained they are in pop culture. Watch MTV and every second clip has a box in it.

People stop me in the street when I'm carrying one.
