Newer Musicians Doing The Right Thing! (LP & Cassette!)

Hi,I just wanted to state that some of our newer pop musicians that I also do happen to know are releasing their music in 12" vinyl and Cassette yes Cassette!! Taylor Swift is and has been releasing her albums in vinyl and Selena Gomez is releasing her new album and other music in cassettes!!
Now this I really like to see!! You should see some of the reactions to these young girls stating "cassette?-what do I do?" It's hilarious!!😊😄
Now if more people would follow these girls and do the right thing so we have music for our boomboxes!!
BTW,please don't rip on these girls please,I know they're young and play pop music but I like them and their music!😊😎❤️🎼🎶📻📻

Yes, I remember some saying a similar thing about vinyl, 'Oh that's a large CD. It's black too. What do I do with it?'

The truth is, it doesn't matter what they listen to really, it's about getting new (young) exposure to an old format........and hopefully sticking with it. This Old Gold electronic stuff is good quality.

Let's hope it is the start of a fresh beginning for Cassette Tape.

Finnish small rap labels have been releasing music in vinyl and cassette for years now. I truly like that and keep buying their artists 12" 's etc.
But Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez? No thanks

This sounds a positive step to me but I do wonder about the quality of (digital?) original recordings or any digital process being involved prior to the production of published analogue media. Do I worry too much?

Hi,nowadays everything seems to be digitally recorded so I think the sound should be good.
I'm waiting to get one of the new cassettes within a week or 2,I'll give you all a review of the sound and quality.

Now that you mention T. Swift, I can't help wondering what is the boombox on her shoulder in "Shake it off" video? Am I not mistaken that the Pause key is pressed on the tape deck? Also, the tape deck door look broken. Perhaps they could donate the box to some of our hardware-restoration-oriented members...

The box is a Crown Csc950. Definitely looks like a dodgy tape door

I wonder if they will be recording full analog from Master Reel or digital DAT etc.....

Also are they using standard Type I or better Type IV which could handle high frequencies.

Cool to see more vinyl and analog cassette being worked in the digital realm.

I see artists recording their music with software wheres the fun in that. Recording on analog where you can tweak the sounds yourself to your liking is best even if doing it with combining digital and analog is fun.

The millennials don't see it that way they rather do it with software. I guess it's the cool factor on automation.

I see it as you're taking the human element out of the equation. Not good!!

Kudos @T-STER for knowing the Crown model!

Probably they do it in software in order to escape the hell of syncing everything in analog.
On the other hand I am happy to see that all that reissuing, and remastering does bring us better quality of old recordings in the end.
