blue chrome. these were almost impossible to find, I just had to ask around. Hopefully they'll work out for this project

fo'sho. In order to make it worth it I had to buy two sets. Normanlly 1 dust cap for most speakers are around $5 ea. This guy has 1 set at $7 plus $6 shippng, it's not worth it.skippy1969 said:Thanks Zorlac.......
If you get two sets with combined shipping it's about $20 (for 4 pieces) Thats worth it. You could sell the other set and save a little more.
I think these should cost a little more just because they are unique and hard to find - i've been digging for months.

He's on long island and i already checked his 2" aluminum caps all have screens on them., any bigger than 2" your getting out of boombox range. I have 4" jbl aliminum caps and no use for them. Kind of off topic, but an idea to make your own chrome dustcaps is to use christmas ornaments.
Those round bauble type ones in chrome that are thin enough to cut. Most modern decorations like this
are of a reslient plastic to ensure they don't smash/break when dropped like the vintage ones most of use probably
remember accidentally breaking when decorating the tree, to our parents' horror.
Trace a circle the right size and cut with a circle cutter or exacto knife and your rockin!
Not done this myself, but I'd imagine it would work very nicely. Might see what cheap ones are around
the stores and experiment!

Originally I ordered them for the "M90 chrome for your dome project" because the chrome on the original dustcaps are hit (as you can view in the first post of this thread).
These blue dustcaps would work with anything that has blue lettering, blue box body, blue tuning scale, blue grills
I think it would, most guessingly, look best on a JVC M70, I don't have an M70 but all the lettering is blue isn't it? Also the tuning scale is blue and the rest of the box is chrome and silver???

Before I found these I was walking through "Lowes", "Home Depot", "AutoZone", "Officemax" and "JoAnns Fabrics" looking for anything chrome or anodized. Belive me I found some chrome for other boombox parts that I will reveal in later examples. But this is it when you can't get what you want easy, sometimes you have to get it the hard way by practicle research. Researching and finding alternative solutions is fun I enjoy it
