I was gifted a Tecsonic Super Jumbo-Super Sound J1 radio by my cousin the legendary DJ Cash Money. He gave it to me when I was helping him clean out his garage. I planned on displaying it as an art piece but it just sat behind my couch for years.
I recently came across a Youtube channel where a guy was refurbishing old boom boxes. He did one that was in way worse condition than mine so it inspired me to refurbish the one that I have.
I have no experience with anything like this but I do know how to work a soldering iron! If I had schematics of this thing that would definitely help! From what I can see it can use a good cleaning, a new handle, it's missing a few knobs, and both antennas are broken off with one missing (the other one was down inside the unit). It takes about 6 size D batteries and one double-A battery (weird).
I also saw a video where a guy integrated a Bluetooth circuit board into an old boom box so that one could play music from your phone through the boom box; I would love to do that!
I would appreciate any help and feedback on getting this done. I'm new to this forum but I feel a kinship already lol! Thanks in advance.
