So I have had the bug to pick up my long lost radio from 1983, a Sanyo M9935k. It arrived today and I am super happy as i was when I got my first one so many years ago. I hope to get to know you guys/gals as time goes on. Hopefully I can afford a large box with all the gadgets one day. Like most kids of that era, we didn't have much money for these beautiful things. I was lucky my dad was able to splurge nearly 1/4 of his paycheck then on this. Anyway, here I am in 1983 and today albeit 130lbs heavier!

That’s how I started...getting the box I had as a kid. Still remember the thrill of getting it originally and finally getting a replacement 7 years back. Nice :-)

Welcome aboard, Simon! The Sanyo M9935K was my first boombox also - late 1983 or early 1984. We can't wait to see where this new journey takes you. :cool:

Trust me, my wife would rather this journey ends at this one single radio! LOL She knows when I get obsessed with something, all bets are off and wonderful surprises show up at my doorstep unannounced! I told her this one will be disassembled and cleaned/bands replaced along with some other goodies. Her response was to leave it alone as it is beautiful the way it is. She knows I'm OCD and never leave good enough alone :)

Paul, I am sure you'll enjoy these pics more... This TR6 used to be my absolute obsession. sold it after 10 years of ownership to a collector in Atlanta Ga 5 years ago. I restored it from a total piece of scrap which I should have let it go to the scrapyard from the amount of money it took to get it to this stage. I had a lift in my last house to clean the bottom side after a drive! In the end, I used to funds to build a garage onto the house. (More on that later if interested)
Of the 95,000 total produced, only 7600 remained in the UK during the production run. This car was my baby. It consumed me to the extent, I had to let it go. As you can see, my OCD was overwhelming! I am much better now! LOL

Welcome,I to have a Sanyo 9935K in mint condition,the lady I bought it from had it in a pillowcase under her bed for almost it’s whole life.😊📻😎

That’s one of the most beautiful Triumph’s I’ve ever seen!! The color and the wheels!! So ckean!!!😮😊😎

Oh, man. I don't think I could have ever sold that TR6. I have always fancied the looks of the TR7. Any time I see one, I damn near break my neck catching a glimpse. :lol:

Trust me, it was hard to sell that car. I fell in love with this acre property. The house on it wasn't much. My wife wasn't into it since it was the first house we bought that was "used". Our other homes were built new. I had a vision but she cant see it until it comes to fruition. Long story short, this house had no garage so with an architects help, I added one at 1088 sq ft along with other mods and extensions. Had to sell the car to fund the garage project. The pool came later. Here are some overhead pics. The property extends further back behind the staggered walls. We removed the original diving pool as it sat too close to the new dining room addition. The new pool was just completed last summer. I am still licking my wounds from that expense.

Outstanding photos. The expressions on your face say it all...even after 35+ years. That TR is a spectacular specimen but it looks like you made great use of the proceeds. Please tell me that lift is not in your garage because if it is...I'm showing this to my wife. My 50th is just around the corner and she needs some ideas :drool:
