New LASONIC woofers on the HELIX HX-4700

If I could I would buy a pallet of those Lasonic speakers and swap out every 8" speaker I have!

honestly i never really cared for that model boombox because something about it was just too plain .it was the speakers! , but now it looks fantastic and i would totally love to have that box. those speakers pretty much made over the whole look of the box , now it looks like the lasonic that lasonic never made lol. which is bad ass in my book.

I agree, don't get me wrong though, I liked it before with the black woofs, but now the like has turned into love! Its like a whole new radio to me and I can't stop listening and staring at it now haha. I do have the orange LASONIC tweeters, and that may be next on the to do list. Only problem is, that the chrome tweeter covers don't let you see the tweets on this radio. The speakers you see above the woofers in the pics are the midrange speakers...

I tried buying a set a few months ago, and got black ones after asking for whites... they were kind and said they'd refund the money, but when I asked about exchanging for whites I never heard back.

Hey Trip, I think its kinda hit and miss. I happened to be there picking up a boombox from the warehouse in person, and he happened to have a few sets so I picked em up while I was there. I've been very fortunate while dealing with Albert there at LASONIC. Hes a really good guy. Very easy to deal with. Plus with me being just a short 1 hour drive from the warehouse, helps out a lot. Just email him again and bug him Lol.

Last week I was able to pick up a fresh, brand new set of LASONIC speakers, and wanted to do a test fit to see...

1. If they would fit the HELIX
2. If I would like the HELIX with white woofers instead of black.

So here's how it all went down. Here is the "Before" look of the HELIX with the original black woofers.

After replacing just one speaker, and before soldering took place, I took a step back to make sure I liked what I saw.

Turns out, I decided to go for it. Especially after seeing the rough looking original black speakers. I will give these the black Sharpie treatment, and save em for another day.

The LASONIC woofers fit perfectly, so all connections were made, and the HELIX reassembled. In my opinion it made a HUGE difference in appearance, it made the boombox look "newer" to me, and it sounds great So here it is everybody, "The Aftermath"...The White Woofer'd HELIX HX-4700. Opinions and constructive criticism are welcome CHEERS
