Need help with busted C60

Hello! somewhat new to this type of thing so sorry if I come off as ignorant.
I work in a local tech shop and recently had someone drop off this boombox, it was originally going to be thrown out but I figured it was too good a opportunity to pass up so took it home instead, from what I can tell it powers on but none of the controls for the tape reader work and the radio tuner only spits out static (although the level meter indicates it picks up something?), The speakers and audio sliders seem fine enough and none of the internals look broken at a glance so I figured someone here would have a better idea of what's wrong with it, I can try to provide any more info if its needed but as I said I'm not that well read on these sorts of things.
Thanks in advance!

Hi The Brand and Model number would be needed to help you, and a full front and rear picture.

Most have dirty switches that can't make good contact, others have bigger problems.

Ok, so Does the "Static" you're hearing get louder with the volume control? I see you have it on MAX volume, why?

Does the Static move from left to right speakers with the balance control?

I would check that first, if not, first, turn the volume down to like 3 or 4 when testing.

Then repeatedly push the 3 buttons I circled in the screenshot in and out, maybe there's some corrosion on the contacts in there and you might need to take it apart to clean it properly, but by just messing with the buttons, you might knock off enough corrosion to figure out if it's one of those selectors.

I would start there, let us know the answers you came up with.

Both speakers respond to the volume slider but the left one seems to emit a constant static even when the balance is set completely to the right.

Messing with the buttons hasn't done anything.
