Need advice on fixing vu meter needle

I did a bonehead thing today. I was merely trying to adjust my vu meter needle because it was stuck and my shaky hands forced the tiny screw out and then the screw fell into the the middle of the mechanism. I got the screw out but in the process, the tiny end of the part in front part of the needle detached from the coil. It was held in place by a blue material (see photo).

How do I reattach the piece? What is the blue material and where to buy it?

Once I fix this I swear I’m not touching anything else .

Respectfully,

Gabriel

It looks like thread locker the type used on bolts and nuts they probably put it on there after it was calibrated to lock the needle on the mechanism.

If you can line the needle back up in the old spot you might be able to just put a dab of Super Glue on it just be careful not to get the super glue on anything else.
