Cleaned up, lubed and gave good treatment with Deoxit...

Wonderful condition, inside and outside. Inside is just like new.

It is my dream machine, even with a RX-7000 in hand. Here it is https://boomboxery.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=17787

FM is upto 90 being a Japanese version.

By the way, what cassette is there inside it? It looks like a pre-recorded maxell cassette from UAE based Thomsun Electronics?

Hi, Thanks! I have a collection of the wood trim side boomboxes including the Sony CFS 85 and RX5700.
This is one of my favorite boomboxes.

Thanks.
Just forgot to mention, for the Volume control and other potentiometers use Fader Lube, do not use the normal contact cleaner, which will make it dry and rough.
I use DeoxIT® Fader, #F100L-L2C from caig.com

A good potentiometer should have the feel of cutting through frozen butter. Fader Lube will clean as well as lubricate it, maintaining the smoothness and firmness of the control.

Hi AE Stereo,

You are correct! Thanks!    I only use Deoxit Faderlube 5 for pots! Actually I learned it from Superduper. He is our KING of Electronics here.

I only use only very miinimum so that it won't wash off the lube for the potentiometer axle  .

It is so hard to take eyes off from this beautiful boombox!

Thanks, Royce

Great job  love it but I do hate the FM frequency range

Bill that is true! It only scan from 76.1 to 89.9 on FM but getting more stations is not a problem with portable tuners.

If you record on this deck it is like recording on a Nakamichi high end deck. That is the quality of sound. :-O

RX7200 is very raer these days. I think only a few of our members do have a decent condition box here. They are so hard to find. The ones that showed up from China had all Al parts pitted and corroded. So one can imagine the condition of contacts inside. I stayed away from buying those. :-O :-O I had to wait to get one waited for one for so many years.

So, if you find one just grab it.
