I just picked up a nice green RX-C50 at auction here in Japan, but It's not quite running up to snuff. I want to disassemble the body to replace belts and anything that is worn out, but I can't get the faceplate off. The back side came off with a half dozen screws, and the faceplate just has clips on the top and bottom, but it won't come off over the cassette cover. The cassette cover is too wide and flared to stay on the body while the faceplate is off, and I can't figure it out.
If anyone has a service manual, schematic, or other tips, I would greatly appreciate it.
