hi, first off to get out of the way I am new here and fairly new in this exciting vintage boom box hobby, I have a few, sadly most with cassette deck issues...This thread is about my big guy the National RX-5080, which worked great until the speed burnt out or something, during an attempt to adjust speed through the meter port to a more correct pace, the fragile nature of the meter seemed to break, anyway, I have a few other motors, and ordered a comparable enough oldstock on ebay...in the mean time since the breakdown of the deck drive and accessibility is really basic and easy on this box, it should be a simple task...or so it seemed, I am getting reverse run on the bottom axle wheel, the counter meter rolling back, and of course tapes eaten if placed in...I can upload photos of the drive...now I had placed other motors where it went correctly but insanely fast, I understand speed adjustments through the back of the motor is the step for this..another issue is unable to get it right. Ideally I wish I could source the exact same mmi-6a # 12vdc it came with, my ask is any background info from other users on this...I wish I could just show and tell rather than my poor notes here...again I am new with this hobby and hope to advance my audio lab background to a point someday where I can really revive these awesome blasters from the past...
