Welcome to the Official NASCAR Thread here on Boomboxery

I know we have allot of NASCAR Fan's here and I thought we needed a thread where we can talk about the one and only National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing.

Post up your favorite drivers names...list any tracks you have been to or want to go to or curse the drivers you hate the most!

Right off the bat, I'm gonna get the blood hot...I AM A JEFF GORDON FAN  Go # 24  Feel free to do your worst...I have heard it all and had all the hate thrown at me over the years!

Unlike the big wave of "Cling On's" of the early 90's, I was a fan of J.G. before he was racing full time in WINSTON CUP and I'm still a fan of his in the post Jimmy Johnson era!

Tracks I have been to:
California Speedway 3 times
Las Vegas Motor Speedway 2 times
Phoenix International Speedway 1 time
Bakersfield Speedway, Oildale, Ca
Saugus Speedway, Valencia, Ca (in the mid 1980's)
Ascot Speedway, Gardena, Ca (in the mid 1970's)

I really want to get up to Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, Ca for the road race. I would also like to get to Bristol & Talladega

...and most of all I HATE TONY STEWART with all the beer in my bladder :annoyed: :catfight:

We don't really have anything comparable in the UK but you've got cool cars and mad speed so whats not to like? :w00t: Would love to see a bit of Nascar next time I'm in the states but not sure the mrs would be too keen

Im a massive NASCAR fan, i dont think ive missed a race for about 5 years, and living in the UK thats no mean feat.

Ive got a few favs, Jnr, Jeff Gordon, Mark Martin, Marcos Ambrose even Danica :smooch: :-D

I would absolutely love to see Lewis Hamilton in Nascar one day but it will proberly never happen, although he did get a drive in Smokes car last year and TS drove his Mclaren.

We have a truck seris in the UK, they race at Rockingham (UK) and Brands Hatch indy curcuit.
We also have MASCAR which is a scaled down version of Nascar on small ovals, not quite the same but still fun.

Btw i did start a NASCAR thread a couple of years ago but only oldscool69 replied (i think he lives in Talladega) so i thought nobody here was that bothered about it.

When i talk about it at work (every Monday  ) they all think im mad :-D

Oh i almost forgot, im not much of a Smoke fan either but i do think hes a good driver, i dont like Ryan Newman and i dont even know why, and Brad Keslowski, i really cant make my mind up on wether i like him or not.

Chris, what do think of Clint Bowyer, i quite like him but as a bit of Gordon fan also, im not sure where i stand on Gordon wrecking Bowyer last year, i like that JG wont take any crap but I think he took out an innocent third party at same time (cant remember who, Hornish maybe?). You just dont get that stuff in F1

Yep, i watch V8 supercars aswell and sometimes Utes, coverage is very disjointed here though and sometimes they skip two or three rounds completely :sadno:

Wow....I really didn't think anyone from outside of the USA would even acknowledged this thread  THAT IS AWESOME you follow in the UK. I know how hard it is to watch a race over seas. I tried like hell to watch NASCAR in German. I was in some little pub and asked the guy to find it, he did...I was drunk explaining to him how cool NASCAR was and I think if he wasn't working he would have killed me with his bare hands   Had the same problem in Japan, could never find it

I have been trying to get into F1, but over the years it's been hard to find on TV until recently. I now have my DVR set to record the race series.

I'm a BIG Mark Martin fan as well. I met him in 2011 at California Speedway. Great guy. So is Carl Edwards, met him as well. I have video somewhere of me talking with Carl Edwards. Met Jimmy Johnson too. And Danica is friggen HOT! I love it when she gets on the radio and say's "I'm a little TIGHT in the corners" Yeah, I'm a PIG

Not sure about that whole thing with Gordon and Bowyer. I don't think it's cool when someone wrecks someone on the track out of spite :nonono: They have a classification of racing for that behavior, it's called THE DEMOLITION DERBY :-P

If you like NASCAR then V8 Supercars will blow your mind.

You guys Down Under are CRAZY when it comes to cars! Some of the wildest machines of all time have come from you. Putting V8's into what are basically tiny Japanese sized cars...NUTZ...Oh, I'd also like to thank you for the mid 2000's GTO and the new Camaro :smooch: IT'S SWEET!

Car's in general are in my blood, I love NHRA as well....BUT THIS IS A NASCAR THREAD ! ! ! :w00t:

Here's a great video with Gordon

All Automotive racing is exciting to watch. I've been to a couple of Nascar sanctioned Smaller races but haven't been able to get the big ones. Hopefully someday. I'm a Jimmy Johnson #48 fan & prefer the Super speedways where that can hit over 200mph. Their wrecks take about a day and a half to come to a stand still. :-D

Oof I guess, what an upset for Gordon and Kenseth.

Yeah, Gordon took out Kenseth and both had a shot to win it. Then Johnson ended up the same way, blown tire in the wall.

Tony Stewart didn't even make it 3 laps
