My wife bought me a boombox

That in itself is an amazing feat! it must have been the good lovin' I gave her.

Anyway, it's a Hitachi TRK-W550H. Does anybody know anything this model? I found a link to a picture on ShizAudio:

She said it's kind of heavy. Takes 10 D cells. Not nearly as heavy as Freddie's JVC PC-55.

The real kicker... she paid $4.50 for it at a local thrift store. I can't wait to see it!!

It's in better condition than she made it sound. Both eject buttons do need some work though. Haven't tested the decks yet. The only "major" thing is the antenna is missing.

Incredible fatdog, very few of the ladies really understand boomboxes and seems even fewer want them around. You lucky dog!

The hitachi looks great, I've never seen that model before.
