Thanks Chris :-)

Only got that orange Coleco the other day after looking for one for ages...got it for the pretty cool styling but actually the game is really addictive...these all get a boombox style service too...stripped, cleaned, and polished :-)

i agree with all positive said and the chromed out emiglio is stunnin
Me too  , but I thought he was a chromed Brian out of the annoying car insurance ads on the TV. :dunce:

If I had a room where all of my radios/boomboxes could be put up like that, I'd instantly liberate enough floor space to be able to use my spare room as a proper office, so saving myself over £30 each week on Diesel to & from work. Note to self: Simon's way is good, my way is less so!

Yeah, Brian's white too, usually. I wonder whether they're related. :-D

Now be honest, who wouldn't want to drive a fully laden 38 tonner over that? :annoyed:

Sorry Si, got carried away and some believe that I should be.

Thanks guys! I do love my room and I feel very lucky to have somewhere to display all my boxes

The emiglio robot is actually badged as a Scooter 2000 over here but it's exactly the same thing. I think it more often came in the white, got this chrome one locally for £5. No remote and didn't work so I tripped it out with RGB LEDs for fun. Love the idea of one delivering wedding rings!....very cool. I think he fits in well with the theme of the room :-)

@john - I like Brian, he's cool! Why not bung a load of shelves in the spare room?...then you could use it as an office and sit amongst your boxes whilst working...how cool would that be?! :-)

Oh for sure, that would do it but the stuff that's currently covering the floor would have to come out so I could get at the wall to put shelves up and that's where major expense comes in. If only I weren't Aberdonian on Dad's side I might be able to reach that far into my pockets!
I did consider having a first floor created by a loft conversion to my bungalow but the missives of the scheme I live in forbid such logical solutions. :-/

Well the wood for my shelves covering the whole wall probably only cost about £90 and that's solid 9" wide pine not cheap MDF or the like...woulda cost me a bomb to buy floor to ceiling shelves covering that much wall...much cheaper to build my own from scratch. Also means I can make them to measure :-)

I'd pay good money for that robot :-)
I wouldn't - I'm as tight as a fishes arse. ;-)

The cost of the wood for me would be massively overshadowed by the cost of getting someone in to move the random boxes of records, record players, radios, boomboxes and f*** alone knows what else out so that I could get to the wall I have earmarked for shelves, then move stuff back in onto those shelves, then put up more shelves at the other end of the room and shuffle stuff around again. I asked my home help years ago but apparently her remit begins and ends with getting me up and mobile on days when she's needed, doing shopping when that didn't work and trying her level best to keep up with the unequal task of keeping my sprawling pile clean. Trouble is, ever since I got my first house, I've managed to expand my collection to fill roughly one and a half times the available space!
I should just stop being so "careful" as I can't take it with me and a monkey - possibly less - should see the job at least finished to the point where I can get in about at the room to take care of details such as wiring and buying a few more radios to fill any gaps that are left over. Or is that not how it should be done?
