this CB radio is something else i picked up thrift shopping.. for you audiophiles.

Welcome Cdnboxer and congrats on your first 2 box finds - nice smaller sized boxes!

I think there would be more than a few members that would love know someone who works in an electronics recycling shop - you're bound to find all sorts of vintage boomboxes coming your way!!

Don't forget to post pics though!

Thanks! you cant see pics?? i keep an eye on my local classifieds too and thrift shop nearly every weekend.. so far i only saw one radio that i should have kept at work and didn't but there are 10-15 everyday one is usually somewhat cool. I'm asking my boss to hold anything interesting for now as i only work there on Saturdays.

....my telefunken gets radio stations for all over like southern cali.. and i dont get how....
Probably has an extra tuned circuit when compared to the majority of Japanese equipment. German radios are good that way.

its really unique and competes with my GE mono for favorite. but just the fact that it reaches oll of those stations means we'll never part paths.

Good box the 656...it's a lovely sounding box with a quality feel to it. Not so popular just cos of those waffle grills but they can easily be brightened up :)

Fine sounding things they are, I've heard one in a friend's house and they are perfectly worthy of the JVC name, IMHO. But I predict that waffle grilles are going to be the next big eBay trend. :-D

I hope, seeing as I find myself with yet another unloved GF-555 that I'll be fixing and then trying to rehome...... ;-)
