Wow, that guy is cool! Around here, most techs roll their eyes when you bring in an 80's box.

I thought I recognised the pulled out guts of a 5150! I like your custom tweeter grills and control lever tips and the rear case repainted black looks great. Are those factory drivers? Anything else custom on that box?

The most important Custom thing on this box are the tweeters that I put in.
It must have been an oversight with Panasonic not to hook up the high end on the 5150.
It sounds great with the Piezo tweeters even better with some non piezo tweeters in it.
Cheers OSS :afro:

I was surprised to put two and two together and see that he was the coffee shop dude, small world.
A couple of things about Mike:
1. Like me, he dances to the beat of his own drum
2. You will never come up with a price to part him with any of his radios. (not that I asked)
Each of his radios have a story behind them and none came from Ebay.
3. He is one of the nicest guys you'll meet.
4. His labor is not free but his advice is. He said he wants to spread his knowledge about radios before he leaves this world.

Cheers OSS :afro:

PS: Jimmy, that 5150 looks mighty sharp.

Absolutely amazing that this is the same guy from the coffee shop! Does he even know what a legend he is?

You know, his labor should NOT be free and if he really knows his way around these boxes he should be paid a far price for the repair work.

The fact that you (potentially) have a repairman near you is something seriously worth envying.

Damn shame he doesn't have internet, he would be a great addition to this site!

Please pass our respect for his passion along.
