Hello Marco, I also collect old valve radios among other things, my best of those being a 1964 Blaupunkt Salvador with the 3D speaker system and speech, sonor, reverb and front speakers only modes. I collect transistor sets too, mostly Hacker, Roberts and Grundig but among those are some Graetz Pages and until recently (sold it for boombox space) I had a massive Hungarian Orion with the green woofers that are sought after among builders of vintage speaker systems and electrostatic tweeters like the Grundigs of the late fifties - early sixties.

So you see, it's not only you who have this strange collecting habit, I suspect there'll be many more who have a weakness for the valves.

We in the UK were only allowed VHF up to 101 MHz until the police started using digital radio for their donut shop orders, then we started seeing 104 and eventually, 108MHz VHF scales but curiously, makers from outside the UK were allowed to sell sets to us that had coverage to 108MHz and somehow, Dynatron and Hacker both got away with selling VHF-only receivers in the UK in the early '60s with coverage to 108, presumably this was overlooked as both companies had the royal warrants and if her majesty wanted a 108MHz-capable radio, then that's what she would have had!

@John - as for valve radios. I only collect special radios from East Germany from the sixties, the best ones :) mostly manufactured in the "VEB Goldpfeil" plant. They should have HF or at least NF stereo. There were not many models produced, for that reason they are expensive today. I store them in the sitting room and therefore I`m only allowed by my wife to have 4 devices here. 3 I found and repaired, the 4th one is a difficult decicion, because there are 3 models I still miss and I want to have... :) Collector`s problems...

I have a bet on a 8110w in ebay. Hope to catch it for cheap money. But if I'll have bad luck there, I will ask you - thanks for your offer. BTW - The clock isn't missing, it's here but not built in, because the setting rubber knobs are missing and the plastic frame to hold the watch module inside is broken.

in German:
Danke fuer Dein Angebot.

regards / liebe Gruesse
