Glad to hear it's working finally! Takes a lot of fiddlin' around sometimes.
By the way, that wax serves an important purpose, it keeps the air core chokes from changing shape, and thus their inductance, so your reception doesn't get all out of whack.

I'm sure it's there for a reason, but should it get in contact with the tuning box?
The cut off issue started to get better as soon as a started cleaning off some of the wax from that box and now that i've completely cleaned it, the problem is gone.
Again, i'm not sure that this was actually causing the problem, i did perform other tasks... but now that is working (and until it's working), even though i trust you, i'm not going to put back wax any time soon :cool:
